PDF files in the Explorer tree or attached to emails are not opened in the browser.
This is possibly caused by the configuration of your Chrome or Edge (Chromium) browser.
The DWord AlwaysOpenPdfExternally may have been set by your administrator to 1. This results in PDF files in Explorer when using Chrome or Edge not being displayed.
Typical error message
Resolution:
1. Manually change the registry by changing the value for AlwaysOpenPdfExternally from 1 to 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome
2. Contact your Administrator to change the group policies
3. Use the right-click menu option "Preview in SharePoint"
