Yes, lists exceeding the 5000 List View Threshold are supported. There is no need to configure views with indexed columns in SharePoint or OneDrive for Business.
The details of the list are retrieved in successive requests and shown in parts (default 1000) in the tree. Alternatively, use the search box to filter items by name.
